  • Invited to accept the Mayoralty of Sutton Coldfield.
  • Played many parts in the athletic and social life of the Royal Borough.
  • For many years he was an indispensable member of the local cricket team.
  • Ranked as a bowler of high merit.
  • Mr. Terry was a Cardboard Box Manufacturer in partnership with his brother Mr. Walter. J. Terry
  • The business was located at 90 Leopold Street.
  • Few years ago they acquired a considerable piece of land in Bordesley Green Road and found it less cramped than they had been in their old quarters.
  • Mr. Arthur Terry is the accepted head of the trade in Birmingham, and had long represented the Birmingham and District Cardboard Box Manufacturers Association on the National Federation.
  • Mr. Terry, magistrate for the borough joined the Sutton Coldfield Council in 1921 and had been a most active member of that body.
  • He had served on the Education Committee and the Housing Committee of which for several years he was Chairman.
  • He was now Chairman of the Town Planning Committee, in addition to which he is on the Health and Building Committee, the Fire Brigade Committee, the Maternity and Child welfare Committee, the Public Assistance Committee, and the Assessment Committee.
